End of term update from our Bursary Students

Career Beginnings

Begum Karakus will start a graduate engineering role at Zotefoams (based in Croydon) in September.

Lamyea Ahmed (pictured above) has graduated from Birmingham with a First Class Aerospace Engineering Degree

Academic Progress

Francisco Larez is completing his studies with only his thesis remaining, grateful for the bursary that has greatly helped him.

Maryam Hassan will enter her third year in September, planning to attend lectures, participate in sports, and improve the Somali society as a committee member. She thanks The Worshipful Company of Founders for the bursary that has reduced her financial worries.

Summer Activities and Internships

Lois Cruz has finished her second year and will start a year in industry in September. She is currently in Canada for a summer research internship at McMaster University.

Siôn Williamson is finishing a placement with Renishaw in August and preparing for his final year at Manchester University.

Lydia Yuon is completing a year-long industrial internship with Dyson and will return to Manchester in September for her final year.

Research and Special Projects

Alvina Mishra is undertaking a summer research project in nuclear technology at Imperial College and will enter her third year in September, studying engineering alloys, biomaterials, ceramics, and nanomaterials.

Maria Giannakoudi has completed her third year at Imperial College and will start her fourth-year Master's program. She has been selected for an exchange term at MIT before returning to Imperial.
