Open House Festival 2023

What to look forward to at Founders’ Hall

Date: 9 & 10 September, 10am - 6pm

During the Open House Festival you should expect:

Family activities, special tours, one-off experiences, and access to spaces the public don’t usually get to see.

There will be Founders who have volunteered to help explain and talk about the meaning and history of The Worshipful Company of Founders.

Historical pieces such as: The Founders’ Ballot Box, The Millennium Bell (which was cast at The Whitechapel Bell Foundry to mark the millennium), a vast collection of weights and measures stamped by The Founders to mark their authenticity (including wool weights dating back to 1702), statues by famous sculptor Charles Sargent Jagger, a collection of contemporary art medals and much more.

To experience this rare occasion please visit,

Consider Volunteering

Last year Founder’s hall opened for the first time for Open House Festival, with a staggering 700 visitors over two days.

We were very grateful to those who volunteered last year, many of whom have agreed to come back for a second time!

You do not need to have an extensive knowledge of Founders’ Hall to attend, you will be briefed on the day.

If you cannot volunteer due to time pressures, please feel free to visit us to say Hello!

Date: Saturday 9 September & Sunday 10 September

Time: We will be open on both days from 10:00-18:00

All of our volunteers at open house 2022 reported how much they enjoyed our service and learnt a lot about Founders’ Hall. If this sound like something you would like to do, fill in the rota below and choose any dates you would like to help. If you have submitted the form and are now unable to attend the event, please contact the office.
